So This Is Love

Dinner with girlfriends recently turned into Holy ground. Two of them are walking through the valley of unmet expectations.

Life has not turned out the way either had hoped.

One wants a husband. One has a husband but wants a baby. I have walked with both of these women as they come to grips with the present without losing hope for the future.  Yet as they ebb and flow between heartache and contentment, they have become a great source of comfort to one another and encouragement to countless others.

On this particular day, one said something so profound to the other…

“We will look back on this time and say, “See how God loves us.”

These words brought comfort to my friend, so much so that she wrote them in red lipstick on her bathroom mirror.

So this is Love.

One day we will look back and marvel at how God loves us so much, He kept the very thing we wanted from us. I don’t like it, but I know He loves me.

Can you look back on a difficult season and see how God loves you?

  1. Hi Suzie. I really like this photo. Did you take this picture? If not, would you be able to tell me where you found it?
    Thank you.
